Case study
Rhythm-locked mining game audio

Mine The Beat is a rhythm-based mining game where players move to the beat, mine ores, avoid enemies and descend deeper for better rewards. It was made for Ludum Dare 48 with the theme "Deeper and Deeper" by Hunterson Studio, GamesBySaul and TKIMUSE.
Every player action is locked to the beat, so the music has to be the game's timing system as well as its mood.
Layered, groove-led writing that builds as the player descends, keeping the pulse unmistakable so the beat stays readable during play.
